First ECV soil moisture workshop held in Vienna (20. – 21. September 2012)

The 1st workshop on the ECV soil moisture product developed within the CCI soil moisture project took place in Vienna, Austria on the 20th and 21st of September 2012. The workshop was attended by a total of 23 participants from 12 different countries. The main objectives of the workshop were to provide participants with a complete theoretical and hands-on overview on how to access, compare and work with the ECV soil moisture product and to get critical feedback from the users.

The workshop was split into theoretical parts and practicals, focusing on 4 themes: Basic Theory, Quality and Errors, Validation, and Trends and Dynamics. Another highlight was the dinner organised at the art history museum of Vienna, where participants could enjoy international masterpieces and socialise.
